In an effort to promote citizen engagement and transparency in government, Claremont City Manager Jason Brown, along with various department heads, will make appearances throughout the city for his new program titled “Coffee Talk”.

This program is aimed at enabling a relaxed conversation in a comfortable environment with residents and business owners to discuss topics of their choice. In addition to topics brought up by residents and business owners, Mr. Brown and others will provide updates on key city initiatives.

Mr. Brown stated this program is the latest in the City’s efforts to provide substantive and accurate information to its residents. “The City provides a wealth of information via its website and social media outlets, but unfortunately not everyone has the ability to access this information via the Internet. This is a more proactive approach in the dissemination of information by hitting the streets and talking to residents and business owners on a more personal level,” stated Brown.

All Coffee Talk events are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.  Each Coffee Talk will be at a local restaurant that serves breakfast, from 7:45 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. The exact locations will be announced as the program progresses and dates are listed below. All information will be posted on the website and social media. If you are interested in scheduling your own Coffee Talk event at your local business or if you have questions, please contact Kara Miller at 828-466-7170 or kmiller@cityofclaremont.org.
